Rovi

Rovi, formerly known as Macrovision, was a company that bought out TiVo in 2016 for $1.1 billion. They had renamed to TiVo Corporation following the acquisition. The company started out by creating the Macrovision copy protection used on VHS, then created SafeDisc protection which is used on CD-ROMs. The company started to venture in entertainment technology in 2008 and renamed to be called Rovi in 2009.
