TiVo Experience 4 (TE4) is the firmware used on TiVo Roamio, TiVo Bolt, and TiVo Edge, the former 2 can also run TiVo Experience 4. Users typically prefer the interface of TiVo Experience 3 as it has less problems than TiVo Experience 4, however TiVo Experience 3 isn't maintained by TiVo anymore and doesn't have some of the features which TiVo Experience 4 has.
