InstantCake

InstantCake is a boot disk which had been available for purchase on a site named DVRUpgrade for $40 for each TiVo model. The boot disk contains a restore image for your TiVo that you can restore if your hard drive in your TiVo dies, given that you have a replacement drive. The boot disk walks you through restoring its image onto a drive. Unlike other methods of restoring TiVo images, InstantCake is licensed by TiVo. InstantCake is not available for purchase to this day because DVRUpgrade has shut down.
